I ♥ Auckland - Auckland Sky Tower

The Auckland Sky Tower at 328 metres is the tallest building in the southern hemisphere with 360° views across the city and surrounding areas. There are three observation decks at the top. The first level has plexiglass floors so you feel like you are walking on air - a little unnerving looking past your feet at the Auckland streets below.
On a clear day you can see up to 82kms. After your visit you have a choice on which way you wish to go down. For the adrenaline junky there is the "Sky Jump" or the more modest elevator.
Safety was top in the minds of the Auckland Sky Tower designers being well over the set standards. The tower is designed to withstand gusts of wind up to 200km/hr and earthquakes within 20km up to 8 on the Richter scale . No matter where you are in the city, the sky tower looks majestic.

Those little orange specks at the top of the tower are people, they actually paid to go for a walk around the top of the tower. No thanks!

Many, many, fond memories are from the sky tower.
I love this building and can't wait to get back there.
I loved it when it was lit up at nights and when it was lit up in Christmas colours like a tree.
It's a great icon.

It's gorgeous, but I probably wouldn't go up it. The plexiglas floor would scare me to bits, and as for walking around outside it, I can barely stand to look at the photo of people up there.

Ha! I'd rather be on the ground looking up than up there looking down. :)

I would love to go up and catch that view!

Your pics are wonderful...as always! But I have a terrible fear of heights :(
