Friday Fences...

This Winter , June here in the southern Hemisphere, we had a horrendous storm. Winds up to 200kmh lashed the west coast where we live, it blew the sand up our beach and changed the landscape forever.

We had small sand hills at the beach, that were stabilised with grasses and fencing. After the storm we went down to see what damage had been done, I came across this fence, with the seaweed looking like it was hanging out to dry, when it fact it had been driven up and hung on the fence from the strong winds and the huge surf that lashed the beach during the storm. The sand was piled up nearly to the top of the fence posts...

An amazing, dramatic sight to see a beach fence acting as a collector of all flying things esp seaweed! Great shot!

It is amazing what the power of a storm can do. This is a great shot-I love the blue and grey colours and the light.

now that's a very different kind of fence! :)

Very neat photo! It does look like it is hung there to dry.

That must have been quite a storm!! That fence collected a lot of "stuff"! Terrific shot for the day! Hope you have a great, storm-free weekend!

That's a very unusual Fence shot! Wind and weather can do some strange things.

At first glance I thought there was a horse saddle hanging on the fence.

I did the metric conversion of that storm's wind speed; no wonder you said it changed the landscape forever!

Thank you for your visit and kind comment on my fence image. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. =)

Judy

That was quite the storm! But interesting to see what blew in!

This photo has a fantasy feel about it--great fun. But I hope your beaches didn't suffer any permanent damage from the storms.

This is your post I was coming to see when I spied the snail. WOW! This is unbelievable. You are not going to believe this, but I thought these were horse saddle on a hitching post. Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought it was seaweed. UNBELIEVABLE. What storms you all must have had. You guys have really been hit as of late. Hope the future is kinder to you than the past. genie
