Wordless Wednesday..New Zealand Christmas Tree

Native tree to New Zealand - Pohutakawa  (pronunciation: 'po' as in go - 'hoo' and 'too' as in too - 'kar' and 'war' as in far the 'r' is silent) The tree blooms in early December, just in time for Christmas.

Now that is a gorgeous tree!

Perfect for Christmas! Is it also called Calistemon? That is what it reminds me of, which I think is from New Zealand, but does grow here-there is one in the front garden of a pretty house across from us.
I finally remembered the giveaway I had last week, and you were one of the names out of the hat(well off the table!). Send me your address and I will get it in the post as soon as I can!

Christmas on the beach, enjoying the sunshine, with a show of Pohutakawa on the shore. Nothing quite like Christmas in New Zealand!
