Scavenger Hunt Sunday..

1. My Town ... Waiuku ( pronounced . Y-oo-koo) Our town square...

2. Something Vintage.. We have the Glenbrook Vintage Railway not far from us, and the train comes into town on the weekend..

3. Tilt Shift Photography..this one was difficult, I don't know how to use Photoshop, and don't have a lens that is a tilt shift lens, so did my best with this shot taken at the top of a local wedding venue, the gardens are built from an old quarry. This reminds me of a fairy woodland hideaway..

4. Dress up..at our work Christmas party last year we had to draw out a letter of the alphabet and dress up accordingly.. I drew the Letter Z,  and dressed up as a Zoo Keeper.

5. Chocolate.. This candy is called 'Jaffas" it is orange jaffa flavoured candy on the outside and yummy chocolate on the inside. A New Zealand favourite.

Have a great week everyone..

Shadow Shot Sunday..

Thanks to Tracy over at Hey Harriet for hosting us, you can visit her over at Shadow Shot Sunday: http://heyharriet.blogspot.com/

Okay all you Shadow Chasers, it is now officially Spring in the Southern Hemisphere and the weather has been glorious for one whole week.. that is seven days with sunshine and no sign of rain..it is such a wonderful feeling to leave for work and the sun is shining. Of course with all this fine weather it is perfect for shadow chasing.

This statue was tucked away behind a stand of bamboo, people have left money there, and believe it or not it is still there.

All these shots were taken at the venue for our daughter's wedding where we met with the photographer. The venue is an old quarry that has been transformed into a gorgeous water garden, complete with waterfall, water lily ponds and themed areas.

Enjoy your weekend.

Last weekend was a holiday weekend, known as Labour Weekend to us here in New Zealand it means the beginning of the warm weather. The days were glorious, and the sunsets spectacular. a trip to the beach was a must for golden sunset pics. Enjoy!

When the sun disappeared over the horizon the sky turned this beautiful pastel pink.  This is looking towards the northern end of the beach.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

This was a real challenge for me this week, my workload has been huge and I was unsure if I would be able to post anything.. so here they are my interpretations for this week..

 1. Five Senses - This shot was taken at Calf Club Day at one of our local schools. Calf Club Day is a real part of our rural New Zealand culture. The children raise the calves, train them, feed them, groom/clean them and show them. This is our cousin Janais, her calf received third place..

 2. Children..Another from Calf Club Day, it is a waiting game, a lesson in patience waiting for judging.

3. Dining. My Mother - in laws birthday afternoon tea. We got out all the old crockery and had a real "high tea". Fine bone china tea cup and saucer.

 4. Night... Taken on the way back from the beach on Friday night..

 5. Sky.. The sky was just amazing on Friday night at the beach, just after the sun had set.

Thanks Ashley for hosting and challenging us once again.
