Moments with Max...

Hi everyone, Max here. I haven't posted for a few weeks so thought I would share some more photos with you. This weekend my "peeps" have been around for 3 whole days, it is a holiday weeeknd and it's been great having them around.

I really enjoy playing in the yard with Mum & Dad, although I do sometimes get myself in trouble, like when Mum is hanging the laundry out and I keep on pinching the socks out of the basket. I didn't manage it this weekend cos' Mum caught me with my nose in the basket and she shooed me away.

Here are some pics of my playtime in the backyard over the weekend...

First I have to sit and wait before the toy gets thrown..

You throw the toy and I will bring it back with a smile on my face..

Mum wasn't happy with me getting in the laundry basket..

And we always finish off with a tummy rub ..

See you next time, Max xx

Shadow Shot Sunday...

The weather is cloudy, and windy, so this afternoon when we got a little bit of sunshine I grabbed the camera and ran frantically around the garden trying to get some shadows.
I took this shot of some dried grass as black & white, added some texures from Kim Klassen to give it a bit of pizazz and here it is..

Textures Tuesday...

Kim, over at Kim Klassen Cafe has set us the theme of 'story' for this weeks Textures Tuesday.

My image was taken at our local cemetery, there is no story to this headstone, but is more a story in itself, being so old. It may be that the person it belongs to was killed during the great war ( WW I ) or could have died in the great influenza epidemic of the 1930's..

I edited the photo with an antique finish and used Kim's Cosmos texture to give an old worldly look....

Sunday afternoon beach walk...

It was such a balmy afternoon yesterday that we just had to go for a walk along the beach. I know that I have said this many times before, but I love this beach. It is wild, and can be dangerous if swimmers do not swim between the flags set out by the lifeguards. This time we headed south, where there were less people .

It was difficult to tell where the sky ended and the beach began. The clouds hung low over the surf and the reflection in the sand was amazing.

There are always great things to find, and as the tide was out there were some wonderful things washed up on the sand...

These seed pods littered the beach, I have no idea where they would have come from, this one reminded me of a hand reaching out. I have brought one home to see if I can get it to grow.

This find was alive, each one of the petals had a living being inside, it looked a bit like a snail...

And to finish with, a seaweed necklace...

Have a great week everyone...

Textures Tuesday..

Kim's theme for this week is 'open' I captured this flower from my herb garden early in the morning as it was opening.  I have used rejoice and confidence textures, still a big learning curve for my, but I am enjoying participating in Textures Tuesday.
Thanks Kim for all the work you do to encourage us to use these textures....

Shadow Shot Sunday...

A few weeks ago Samantha ( youngest daughter) and I spent the day together, with our cameras of course, exploring a few places I had noted earlier were worth photographing. One of the places was this old abandoned house, it may have been the Rangers house many years ago as it stands on the outskirts of the local forest here...

I really wanted to go inside and have  look, but the electric fence we had to climb over was a bit of a barrier...

Friday ...

Friday is coming to an end, and is about to leave us...

What a week it has been, my first week back at work. It always seems so much harder to get back into the work routine after a break. I must admit that I have been less that enthusiastic.......

Max had a few days this week at Camp Canine Doggy Daycare, we decided to give him a few days where he could socialise with other dogs, but also to give Pop ( my father-in-law) a chance to go out and about without worrying about Max being left on his own to get bored and to get into mischief.
Although it is early days for Pop since Nan passed away,  we felt it was important that he didn't feel that he could not go anywhere because of the dog. And so far it is working out real good, Pop has managed to get a few legal matters sorted out, and went to the RSA (Returned Services Association) to meet up with some friends for a catch up. And Max was very well behaved at Camp Canine..

So tonight it is wind down time with a take-out dinner, a glass of wine and putting my feet up.
Have a great Friday everyone and a great weekend ahead....     xx

Moments with Max..

Hi everyone , Max here, thought I would give you an update on how things have been going since I arrived at my new home.

I have been here for 8 weeks now, and I think I have managed to get this "new family" to like me. Mind you what is there not to like, after all I am such a handsome boy,  truly , I am irresistible.

Eating the wood from the woodpile has become a favourite past time, my mum & dad are hoping that in the Winter months instead of eating the wood I will take it inside and place it on the fire saving them a job .

I do lots of good things too, I don't eat as many pot plants( it has become a bit boring now that no-one reacts) There are less sentences that start with "That bloody dog..." and more that start with "Good boy Max.."

My preference for socks, especially when they are freshly laundered, still seems to be a problem with mum & dad, personally I don't see what the problem is , at least I leave their undies alone, unlike that Boxer they had.

Running, jumping and playing with my tug are some of my favourite things to do..

and one of my favourite places to visit is the beach.

On Christmas Day I got to go to the beach with more of the family, Alys and Steve enjoyed spending time with me.

So, all in all I am patting myself on the back for choosing mum & dad to be my new family. I am looking forward to new adventures with them and will keep you posted.

Shadow Shot Sunday...

Taken at sunset at the beach on Thursday evening. I would love to tell you all that we are experiencing some wonderful lazy, hazy days of Summer but the truth is that this would have to be one of the wettest Summers in a long time. Weather forecasters are telling us that the weather will not improve until late March, by then it will be Autumn ... great, thanks weather people, love ya work!!
Hope the weather is being kinder to you all.

Textures Tuesday...

Having discovered Kim Klassens Cafe blog a few months ago, I decided to make adding textures to my photos a project over the Christmas break. After all the weather has been bleak, more like Winter than Summer and what better way to wile away the hours .

So after a few attempts, and a lot of patience from my 'hubby' who taught me the ins and outs of getting the textures onto my photo via photoshop I even plucked up the courage to put a couple of posts onto my blog showing my progress.

Well, today, I have 'bitten the bullet' so to speak and have posted another photo, this time as part of Kim's meme Texture Tuesday. Thank you to Kim,  pop on over to Kim's blog and check out the other particpants.

I used the texture 'Storm' on this photo taken at our beach on a windy, bleak day last week.

Texture #2 - Kim Klassens Annabelle

Here is another attempt from my layers project....
I converted the photo to black & white after I had added the texture, I like the effect the B & W gives..

I think I'm getting better, I only had to ask for help once this morning...

Weeds or Wildflowers.....

The weather has been 'crappy' over the past four days, and it is more like Winter than Summer.

I have been wanting to learn about adding textures to photos for quite some time and have spent the last few days learning how it all works. Thanks to my 'hubby,' who uses photoshop at work everyday, he has been very patient and I think that I am getting the hang of it. Still have a long way to go with learning all the other things that Photoshop has to offer. But little steps are the best way to go....

This is one of the images that I took a few days ago, before and after shots. The texture is part of the range over at  Kim Klassen Textures
