Canteen Bike Bash October 2010...

Every October my work sponsors, in partnership with other local businesses, the Canteen Bike Bash.
Canteen is the New Zealand Teen Cancer Patients Society.
 http://www.canteen.org.nz/about

The community really gets behind the Bike Bash with everyone working hard to raise as much money as we can. I managed to do two half hour stints, and as in previous years it was a BLAST!! Lots of laughter, loud music and a great time had by all. Here are a few of the pics that I took...

Part of the fundraising that Canteen holds is to sell these bandannas, in a variety of colours and designs..

The theme this year is Super Heroes,  our Superwomen from the local gym getting us organised..

Some of us rode bikes to raise money..
Some of us danced in the sun..

And some made unselfish gestures. This is Theresa, our sports reporter, Theresa shaved her head and managed to raise $400.00 for Canteen.

And we had a special visit from Ronald McDonald, from you know where..

The Bike Bash goes for 12 hours, starting at 8am this morning and finishing at 8pm tonight. When I left a 5pm we had raised $7000.00.

Anglea I'm bordering on tears here.
It's so fantastic that stuff like this goes on.
Cancer is horrible and those poor teens.
I'm glad you were a part of this.
Great shots.
