M is for.....

Matryoshka Dolls..or as we know them Baboushka Russian Dolls.
The history of these dolls goes back at least 100 years. The first Russian nesting doll was born in 1890.
The name Matryoshka was associated with the image of a mother of a big peasant familywho was a very healthy portly figure.
These dolls are from Russia, and are made of wood. A gift to one of my girls from a friend. We have them to look after until she wants them, and love having them on display.
